    Greetings, 

    ​Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards and informs you of receiving a letter from the Council of Saudi Chambers No. (L / L / 1651) dated (7/27/1441) referred to in the telegram of His Excellency the Minister of Health and the head of the committee formed to take all necessary precautions to prevent the outbreak of the Coronavirus in The Kingdom and to complement the efforts made to reduce the potential risks of transmission methods for infection with the new Coronavirus, the committee concluded the importance of applying the health precautions to enter the cargo truck drivers through all the land ports in the Kingdom according to the following conditions:

    First: Regarding on crossing through the Kingdom (transit):

    A. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs the neighboring countries that use Saudi lands to cross transit trucks, due to the measures are taken​ by the Kingdom to reduce the spread of the new Coronavirus, the General Authority of Customs will reduce the cross of transit trucks through the land ports of the Kingdom and only transit trucks that transport basic food commodities will be allowed.     D. Giving truck drivers transit notice 96 hours to leave the kingdom after entry and rely on tracking systems and the application of financial penalties for violators continued to complete the customs procedures followed about truck crashes.​



    Second: Regarding the entry of goods into the Kingdom:

    ​A. The Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Transport, and the General Authority of Customs urge merchants to use air and maritime transport to ensure the speedy clearance of their products and not to be subject to delay due to the current conditions while giving a deadline to apply the closure of transport through the land ports.

    ​B. Obligating the drivers of transit trucks to obtain visas through the Kingdom’s embassies or consulates in those countries from which they came and not to obtain them through the port.​

    C. ​Continuing to allow the trucks that carrying basic commodities (food, pharmaceutical and relief shipments) directly, and the FDA determines the goods that the Ministry of Health will take of all precautionary measures.

    D. ​The truck drivers are screened before entering the port and return who have symptoms of the new Coronavirus and until they exit from the port.​

    ​Regarding the entry of trucks through land ports from Jordan to the Kingdom, entry is limited to Saudi and Jordanian drivers and those who have a regular residence and public license valid in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia only.​
    All transport trucks are allowed to enter the Kingdom through ports without drivers, provided that all trucks are sterilized by the General Ports Authority under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, knowing that the absorptive capacity and operational capacity are available in the Kingdom's ports to accommodate all goods imported to the Kingdom in the event that it is transferred from the land to the sea.​
